2023 RGV Food Bank Empty Bowls

Vantage Bank Texas is proud to support the Food Bank of the Rio Grande Valley (FBRGV) throughout the year via Employee volunteering, Sponsorship and Board membership.

On October 17, Vantage served as a Grapefruit Sponsor for Empty Bowls, the FBRGV’s largest annual fundraiser, and Employee volunteers assisted by staffing the silent auction tables.

Attendees enjoyed food from over 35 restaurants while visiting with fellow community members coming together to help fight hunger. They also each received a one-of-a-kind ceramic bowl hand painted by local artists and volunteers. The bowl serves as a reminder that there are still many “empty bowls” in the community that need help being filled.

Over the last 38 years, the FBRGV has evolved to become the largest regional, non-religious charity in South Texas, serving Cameron, Hidalgo, and Willacy counties, where one out of every 4 children (and 1 out of every 2 living in rural communities) suffer from food insecurity. The FBRGV is passionately committed to improving lives through food assistance, nutrition education, and access to community services. The FBRGV prides itself in the fact that 98% of expenditures are directed towards Program Services, ensuring donor’s contributions are helping feed as many as possible.
