Invest: Dallas-Fort Worth 2022-2023 launch conference to showcase robust growth

2 min read October 2022 — Everything’s bigger in Texas, a point which rings tried and true throughout Invest: Dallas-Fort Worth 2022-2023. This first edition of the business intelligence publication from Capital Analytics Associates highlights the opportunities present throughout industries across the region, as well as the near-term horizon and long-term outlook for the future of the metroplex. The region’s robust growth will be one of the main focuses of the official Invest: Dallas-Fort Worth 2022-2023 Launch Conference on Thursday, Dec. 1, at the Omni Las Colinas Hotel.

 

During the launch of Invest: Dallas-Fort Worth 2022-2023, local industry and community leaders will come together to discuss the region’s business climate and how they are capturing current economic tailwinds to ensure long-term prosperity for all. The event will feature three panel discussions that will center on the local market’s financial industry, the current state of development for the area’s real estate, infrastructure, and construction sectors, and the strength of the local educational ecosystem

Sign-in at the conference is set to begin at 8:00AM with a breakfast networking hour. Abby Melone will be presenting the opening remarks at 9:00AM, followed by an opening keynote address and then three ensuing panel discussions.

 

The first panel, Keeping Up: How the strength of DFW’s education sector is feeding workforce demand and what changes are still needed, will feature panelists including Dr. Rama Yelkur, dean of Texas Woman’s University College of Business; Collin College District President Neil Matkin; Marilyn Wiley, dean of the University of North Texas G. Brint Ryan College of Business; and Cece Gassne, vice president for research and economic development at Texas A&M University – Commerce. Moderating the panel will be Capital Analytics Associate’s Regional Editor for Southern Markets Max Crampton-Thomas.

 

The second panel, What Could Be Next?: How the last few years have shaped what development will look like going forward, will be presented by Sheneice Hughes, assistant director of Administration and Customer Engagement at Dallas Love Field Airport. The panel will dive into developmental strategies that leaders are taking to help the region keep pace with demand, infrastructural needs and growing sustainably. The discussion will be moderated by Nathan Kowallis, senior vice president and Dallas business unit Leader for McCarthy Building Companies, with panelists including Addison Airport Director Joel Jenkinson; Gensler’s Aviation Leader and Principal Tim Hudson; Vice President at Scott+Reid General Contractors Eric Gilbert; and Southern Methodist University’s Director for the Folsom Institute for Real Estate Joseph Cahoon.

 

The final panel, The New (Financial) Normal: How we got here, where we are and where it’s heading, will cover the past, current and future state of the financial market. Presented by Phil Appenzeller, CEO of Munsch Hardt Kopf & Harr, P.C, the panelists will include Mark Gehlbach, president and co-founder of True North Advisors; Larry Miller, president and CEO of North Dallas Bank and Trust Co.; Dallas Market Executive and Commercial Banking Leader for Regions Bank Tyrus Sanders; and Jeff Sinnott, president and CEO of Vantage Bank. Moderating the discussion is Doug Hutt, chairman and CEO of Dallas Capital Bank.
