Rosa Hawkes
Assistant Vice President, Banking Center ManagerOne year with Vantage Bank
I started my career straight out of U of H and into Project Management. Having worked in PM paved the groundwork for me to go into banking. I have a passion for working with people from many lines of business and helping to complete projects and finding solutions to issues, much like in banking where you're meeting with people from all walks of life and helping them make great financial decisions.
In my 20 years in banking, I've had the opportunity to work for several different banking institutions. I've managed small startup banks, large corporate centers and high-volume banking centers. With every banking position I've held, I've been able to grow professionally and in turn be a more effective manager.
In the community that I serve, I love the flexibility to be able to attend functions, volunteer, and be the face of Vantage Bank, letting others within the community learn more about the bank. Houston is so big and knowing that we're in this market making a difference in the businesses we work alongside with, the clients we service, and the communities we work and live in.
In the past, I've been on the Exe Board of Directors for the Sealy Chamber of Commerce just ending my service with them in 2022. I've been on the Board of Directors for CASA for kids. I enjoy volunteering at the school for financial literacy, love going to the food bank, and any other time I can get out and give back to the community. That is where I'm the happiest.
I love spending time with family, whether we're traveling together or making sure we all come together for family dinners at least once a week. I'm of the mindset that family first and then everything else will fall into place.
I specialize in retail and commercial banking, business development, residential and personal lending, and management. I enjoy getting to know people on a personal level. Learning more about them and what's important to them, because what's important to them is important to me.
